South Korea: Massive Candlelight Vigil Turns to Protest over Sewol Ferry Disaster

The ferry was carrying 476 people when it sank on April 16, 2014, 325 of the passengers were children. So far the captain and 3 of the crew have been indicted on charges of manslaughter due to negligence. Citizens are outraged at the government and media for not reporting truthfully on the incident. Reports of missing and dead were still changing this week, one month later.

Initial reports indicate possibly 50,000 people gathered in protest to demand a clear investigation into the disaster requesting the truth be told and shown and calling for the resignation of President Park Guen-Hye over how the tragedy has been handled.
The police arrested protesters and even young school girls who were gathered peacefully. Estimates say about 115 people have been taken to the police station.
